That’s right! A miracle occurred today. As I was walking to the Underground to head to the mall, a woman stopped me, and asked me for directions. And the MOST AMAZING thing occurred…I was able to tell her how to get to her destination.
For those of you reading this; this may not seem so earth shattering, but you have to know that even in the states if someone asked me for directions I wasn’t very good at sharing how to get there. But today, I was able to share how to get to a location in another country. That my dear friends is a flipping miracle. My inner GPS system must be kicking in!
Today I took the Underground to a new location to simply window shop. It was a lot of fun to go through the different shops to see the different clothing styles, the unique fresh food market, and of course all the amazing international cultures blended together. While I was in a store, I noted a woman whom picked up a shirt, and told the shop owner that she had purchased a shirt from the lady prior, and did not have a satisfactory experience with it. She then asked “Since I had a bad time with that shirt, I want a discount for this shirt.” I then watched as the shop owner wheeled and dealed until they came up with a price they were both satisfactory with. This fascinated my body. I’ve never seen negotiating take place in a commercial mall. I’ve heard about it in places like Mexico, but never here.
Next, I walked through the 99 pence store, where just like in America everything in the store is only 99 pence. I saw some casserole baking dishes, and of course was excited thinking…”Oooooooh, its only 99 pence, what a bargain!” I was excited until I realized whatever I purchased I had to carry back with me, and let me tell you casserole dishes are not light. So, I passed. This not having a car really makes me rethink my purchases. Just how badly do I need what I am getting ready to buy? I’ve turned down a lot of purchases with that question.
I then went to the local cafe, and had a sandwich and drink while I watched the local shoppers across the way go through the check stands. I noticed a commotion energy going on to the left of me. There were two frail little petite English grannies covering their eyes and giggling. I wondered why they were doing this, and when I looked to the right of them I saw a tall pretty black woman with a really plump booty. However, her booty had escaped from her pants and was totally hanging out for all to check out. I was surprised that she couldn’t feel her booty hanging out. She stood by the check stand waiting for her family to arrive. Meanwhile I noticed everyone checking out her “ba-donka donk donk” (quoting Missy Elliot) and silently giggling to themselves. She eventually figured this out when her sister pointed it out to her, and she swiftly reunited her booty with her pants.
Finally, on to my tummy passion degree, tonight I’m making baked raspberry glazed chicken stuffed with baby spinach and feta cheese with a side of coconut lime rice. I’ll let you know how it turns out. My mouth is already salivating at the visual of me eating it. Thank you to those of you who have sent me recipes to try. For those of you who still have some that you want to share; please send them my way. I’m open to all kinds of recipes from sweet, sour, savory, gourmet, simple…..you get the point!

You need a big back back woman !
OMG.. that chicken sounds frickin’ fabulously delicious !
You’ve got a free place to stay in SF any time ;P
Funny Alisa! The chicken did turn out really good.
I am having a blast with the cooking piece. You’re right, I do need to figure out the whole carrying thing.
