That’s right! You heard it here first. I’m learning how to cook. We’re not talking just cooking foods to keep the body alive either. Anyone can do that. I’m talking about using my artistic abilities to whip up delicious, juicy, mouth watering creations that are meant to be completely savored, and aesthetically adored.
I’ve decided to get one of my Life PHDs from the Cosmic University as a Tummy Delight Designer. Mmmmmmmmmmmm! I’m actually quite tickled to begin taking this life degree. Tummy Delight Designers help to create meals that are appealing to all the senses. I look forward to some day throwing a dinner gathering where I know the people showing up will ooooh, awwwww, and mmmmmmm over my food. If you want to come to my first Tummy Delight Designer Dinner Party let me know, and I’ll put you on the guest list. You may have to travel to Europe to attend, however. *big grin
You know to many this may not seem like such a big deal, but I have to come clean. To those of you who already know me; you’re in on my culinary jitters. I’ve always had a fear of being in the kitchen. The idea of having people over for dinner scared the bejesus out of me!
Last night I discovered a very awesome show called Cooking It. This show is fantastic! It takes people who can’t cook at all, teaches them the basics, and then has them compete with professional chefs. It’s my new favorite show here in the United Kingdom. If you love cooking shows, you’ll enjoy it.
After watching a couple episodes of Cooking it, I felt inspired to take my first grocery store journey today. I don’t have a car over here, so it’s just me and my Nikes trekking it. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I enjoyed looking at all the different choices here in England verses the states.
Here’s some fun vocabulary lessons. Shopping carts are called trolleys here. Garbage is called rubbage. If you’re looking for the herb cilantro its called corriander in the grocery store.
Tonight I made the best chicken nachos ever! In fact, I don’t think I have ever made a better batch than this evening. I sang while I slowy sliced the sweet onion, corriander, and ripe tomato. As I squeezed the fresh lime juice into my delicious fresh creation I sent loving healing energy into the bowl. I pictured high vibration light going into the food. Everything thing I prepared for the nachos tonight was lovingly and joyfully prepared. It all received a shot of healing energy.
When I sat down to eat it, my taste buds literally did a “YUMMY DANCE!” They were fantastic. They didn’t taste as heavy as they had when I made them in the states. They tasted cheerful, and if I may toot my own nacho creating horn……I think I scored an A on my first assignment. I’m well on my way to becoming a Tummy Delight Designer.
For those of you Tummy Delight Designers already out there, feel free to send some recipes that you love. I’m in recipe collection and experimental mode.

Waits for the Tummy Delight Designer Joy World Tour

Master chef on BBC is good and Gordon Ramsay Cookalong for those wanting to learn to cook.
hey shannon, my friend loves this website: http://allrecipes.com. She says she just puts in ingredients or items she wants to learn to cook and it gives great directions. Tons of great recipes. There is a fabulous recipe for hummus with some organic tortilla chips…super yum. We also have been making sandwichs with hummus, sauted mushrooms, sprouts, spinach on whole wheat. sometimes we add avacado. super good for all the veggie eaters out there. we sometimes add tofu also. or wrap it in a tortilla instead of bread. i hope your having so much fun. much love, monica
OH Shannon!! Good for you! I love to cook- but I have been blessed with a mother and a mother-in-law that taught me how. I was also lucky enough to have a husband that was always willing to let me experiment and never complained when I made something inedible (which still happens from time to time!) I think cooking is a lot like anything- first you learn the basics- get them down- and then play with color, textures and whatnot. I think I love to cook because I love to eat!! Some of my favorite recipes are the simplest- like seasalt and corse pepper on porkchops on the grill! My kids love my pasta fagiole with sausage- that is really yummy comfort food (along with my chicken soup… yummmm…) I use http://www.recipezaar.com a lot- and sometimes just read recipes for fun!! Happy cooking!! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
Yay, you! Cooking really can be so much fun … when you’re in the mood. At least, that’s how it works for me. I LOVE cooking, except for when I don’t.
The Kitchen Witch is a fun cookbook that includes fun magickal bits with each recipe (like cinnamon for love and nutmeg for prosperity). And anything Nick Stellino does is FAB! (I have a kitchen crush on him so bad.) I’ll have to go thru my recipes for you. I love pretty food. I even refer to my cookbooks as “food porn” and wish my cooking magazines came with centerfolds. LOL! What sort of food are in to? Shrimp Fra Diavolo is one of those every sense foods that I absolutely love! Perfect for a romantic dinner. And, if I can recapture it (I lost it when my laptop died) I’ll have to send you my brownie recipe. Remind me.
Mmmm! I’m so proud Shannon! I would be “delighted” to be at the premiere of the Tummy Delight Designer’s dinner party… Look out Iron Chef… she’s got one up on you with those extra special ingredients of healing and joy (not found in your neighborhood grocery store). In fact, I say make yourself a pretty little notebook/scrapbook for all your new recipes and title it ” The Joy in Cooking” ((( : My tastebuds are quivering just thinking about it! HaHa! I know you’ll have with this.
Every day must be a bit of adventure for you. Don’t you find you walk a lot more than you do at home? It’s easy to pick out the Americans, isn’t it?
I love your blogs, I’ll be tuning in regularly. But damn – I miss hearing your voice! Keep having fun!
Love, Jo
Oh MY Stars, normally I am not a fan of nachos, but girrrllll, they sound yummy and simply irresistible.
